
Back-To-Back Double-Doubles Nets Brown OVC Honors

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – After registering back-to-back double-doubles and setting a new career in high in points last week, junior Anaya Brown of the University of Tennessee at Martin women's basketball team was named as the OVC Player of the Week for games played Feb. 17-23, the league announced Tuesday Morning.
Brown began the week by going 7-for-14 from the floor and 9-for-10 at the free throw line for 24 points, to go along with 10 rebounds and a career-high five blocks for her fourth double-double of the season against Tennessee State Tuesday.
Against Tennessee Tech Thursday, Brown again notched a double-double with 10 rebounds, but this time scoring a new career-best of 29 points. She was also solid at the free throw line again, where she made 10 of 14 attempts.
For the week, Brown averaged 26.5 points, 10.0 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game and was an impressive 43.2-pecent from the field and 19-for-24 at the free throw line.
The honor is the second of her career for Brown, while she becomes the third Skyhawks this season to earn the distinction. Shae Littleford earned the award on Dec. 17, followed by Daejah Richmond on Feb. 8. For head coach Kevin McMillan, it marks the 67th time in his career one of his players has earned the league's top weekly honor.
Brown and the rest of the Skyhawks return to the Kathleen & Tom Elam Center in Martin Thursday for their penultimate game of the regular season against Southern Indiana at 5:30 p.m.
