The University of Tennessee at Martin women's basketball team dropped a 77-45 decision to New Mexico Thursday night at The Pit in Albuquerque. The Skyhawks trailed by just five at the end of the first quarter, but New Mexico ended the second on a 9-0 run and held UT Martin scoreless for the last 6:52 of the frame in the process. In the third, the Lobos outscored the Skyhawks, 28-16, giving UT Martin a deficit from which it could not recover. Kenley McCarn led the Skyhawks with 11 points on the night, along with four rebounds. Grace Billington had nine points in the game, while Brittani Wells had seven points and a team-high five rebounds.
Kenley McCarn currently leads the Skyhawks with 13.2 points per game, while Grace Billington follows at 12.0. Yar Tong leads UT Martin rebounding at 6.5, followed by Grace Billington and and Brittani Wells at 4.2. As a team, the Skyhawks are averaging 59.8 points and 32.0 rebounds per game, while their opponents average 61.2 and 43.2.
