
Skyhawks Fall On The Road at New Mexico

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The University of Tennessee at Martin women's basketball team dropped a 77-45 decision to New Mexico Thursday night at The Pit in Albuquerque.
The Skyhawks trailed by just five at the end of the first quarter, but New Mexico ended the second on a 9-0 run and held UT Martin scoreless for the last 6:52 of the frame in the process. In the third, the Lobos outscored the Skyhawks, 28-16, giving UT Martin a deficit from which it could not recover.
Kenley McCarn led the Skyhawks with 11 points on the night, along with four rebounds. Grace Billington had nine points in the game, while Brittani Wells had seven points and a team-high five rebounds.
On Saturday, UT Martin continues its trip through the Southwest when it travels to El Paso to take on UTEP at the Don Haskins Center at 7 p.m. MT/8 p.m. CT.
