- The Skyhawks outscored Fisk, 34-2, in the first quarter and never looked back as they topped the Bulldogs, 79-39, Sunday for their first win of the season. The Skyhawks shot 44.4-percent from the floor in the game and 37.5-percent from 3-point range. They finished the game with 21 assists on 28 made field goals and outrebounded the Bulldogs 47 to 35. Zy Thompson led UT Martin with 19 points on 9-of-9 shooting, while Kenley McCarn hit four 3-pointers to finish with 12 points, to go along with a game-high six assists. Grace Billington finished with 10 points, while Cam Ward had nine and Brittani Wells added eight. On the boards, Yar Tong led the way with 10 rebounds in her collegiate debut, followed closely by Kennedy Horton with nine and Ward finishing with seven.

Billington also leads the team in rebounds with 5.0 rebounds per game, followed by Brittani Wells and Zy Thompson at 4.0.  - New Mexico head coach Mike Bradbury is in 10th season at New Mexico but this will not be the first time he has faced off with Skyhawk head coach Kevin McMillan. In the 2009-10 season, McMillan was in his first at UT Martin while Bradbury was the head coach at OVC rival Morehead State. The Eagles won both games against the Skyhawks that season, which would turn out to be Bradbury's last at Morehead State.
