Skyhawks Host Little Rock Thursday

MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin soccer team returns to action at Skyhawk Soccer Field Thursday when it takes on Little Rock at 7 p.m.
The Skyhawks are coming off a heartbreaking loss at Southeast Missouri, 2-1, Sunday. UT Martin held a 1-0 lead for over 75 minutes of the match, thanks to a second-minute goal by Peyton Cook. The game remained scoreless until the 79th minute when Emily Baker found the bottom left corner of the goal to equalize for the Redhawks, 1-1. In the 89th minute, UT Martin conceded a penalty kick, which Baker took and converted into a goal, completing the rally and securing the 2-1 win for the Redhawks in the process. Overall, the Skyhawks are now 1-6-6 on the season and 1-2-1 in OVC play.
Thursday will be the 16th all-time meeting between Little Rock and the Skyhawks, with the Trojans leading the series, 6-5-4. UT Martin has lost the last two matches against Little Rock, with their last win in the series coming as part of the 2022 OVC Tournament. In Martin, the Skyhawks hold the overall advantage in the series at 3-1-2.
The Trojans are unbeaten in conference play this season at 1-0-3 after tying Southern Indiana at home Sunday, 1-1. Maria Schuller scored the lone goal for Little Rock in the match for her seventh of the season. Schuller leads the OVC in shots at 38, goals at seven and assists at four.
