Hechter Earns Back-To-Back OVC-Big South Special Teams Player of the Week

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – University of Tennessee at Martin football place kicker Cade Hechter earned his second consecutive OVC-Big South Special Teams Player of the Week selection after an impressive road performance against Gardner-Webb.
The Sydney, Australia native gave UT Martin an early lead and kept adding to it behind an impressive afternoon with the right foot. Hechter tallied 13 points for the Skyhawks after making all seven of his kick attempts in a 37-7 road win over Gardner-Webb. The senior connected on field goals from 37, 41 and 25 yards and was 4-of-4 on point after attempts. The performance marked the first time a Skyhawk has made three field goals in a game since March 21, 2021 against Austin Peay.
Hechter ranks third nationally in field goal percentage (90.9%), having converted 10 of 11 attempts this season.
