
UT MARTIN MEN'S HOOPS TRAVELS TO OVC RIVAL SOUTHEAST MISSOURI TOMORROW FOR FINAL ROAD GAME OF REGULAR SEASON

MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin men's basketball squad concludes its Ohio Valley Conference road schedule with a visit to Southeast Missouri. Tipoff time from the Show Me Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo. is set for 3:45 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24.
The Skyhawks (18-10, 11-4 OVC) tied the school record for most OVC road victories in a season on Thursday at Lindenwood, equaling the 2008-09 and 2007-08 teams with six. UT Martin put on an dazzling offensive display, tying the program record for most points in an OVC contest in a 106-82 triumph. The Skyhawks shot 63.9 percent - including a remarkable 71.4 percent (20-for-28) clip while putting up 59 points in the second half alone.
Jordan Sears established career-highs in scoring (37 points), rebounds (nine), assists (nine) and three-point field goals made (seven) in UT Martin's win on Thursday. Jacob Crews generated his eighth double-double of the season with 28 points and 12 rebounds as that tandem combined to each score 25 points in a game for the third time in 2023-24 (also occurring on Nov. 25 at Chicago State and last Saturday against Morehead State).
The Skyhawks are in search of their fourth consecutive win against the Redhawks. Back on Jan. 25, UT Martin defeated Southeast Missouri by an 84-58 margin at the Kathleen and Tom Elam Center, leading for 38:52 of clock time. Sears (20 points), Crews (19 points) and Issa Muhammad (14 points, 11 rebounds) led the way for a Skyhawk team that held the Redhawks to 35.9 percent shooting, including a 15.8 percent (3-for-19) effort from three-point land.
Southeast Missouri (8-20, 3-12 OVC) is coming off an 83-61 home setback to Little Rock on Thursday. OVC field goal percentage leader Josh Earley scored a team-high 18 points while current OVC Freshman of the Week Marqueas Bell provided 10 points.
In the matchup at UT Martin earlier this season, Earley accounted for a team-high 14 points while Rob Martin (10 points) also scored in double figures.
