- The Skyhawks struggled to find momentum Saturday and fell to Southern Indiana, 69-59, at Liberty Arena in Evansville. The game was back and forth in the first quarter, with the Skyhawks only trailing by one, 15-14, at the end of the frame. However, poor shooting by UT Martin in the second and third quarters, in which it made a combined seven field goals, led to Southern Indiana building what proved to be an insurmountable lead. While Skyhawks began the third quarter on a 7-0 run, they would go to score just two more points over the remainder of the period. In the fourth, UT Martin outpaced the Eagles, 21-16, but ultimately, it was too little too late, as USI held on for the 10-point win.
 - The Skyhawks were outrebounded in the contest, 46-34, leading to an imbalance of second chance points in the Screaming Eagles' favor, 13-6. The Skyhawks did commit less turnovers in the contest at 19-15, which led to a 28-12 advantage for UT Martin in points off turnovers.
 - Shae Littleford led UT Martin in the game with 18 points on the back on a perfect 8-for-8 performance at the free throw line. Kenley McCarn was also perfect at the free throw line Saturday, going 4-for-4, and followed Littleford with 15 points.
 - Lexi Rubel led the Skyhawks on the boards in the game with eight rebounds, while Littleford also led the team in assists and blocks at three and one, respectively. Rubel, Littleford and the sisters McCarn, Kenley and Kaitlyn, helped fuel UT Martin's sixth 10-plus steal outing of the season with two each. The Skyhawks have now tallied 10 or more steals in each of their last three games.
 - NAIA-member Fisk is currently 5-8 on the season and 5-3 in HBCU Athletic Conference play. After starting HBCUAC play 4-1, the Bulldogs are now 5-3 and enter Sunday on a three-game skid after a 73-59 loss to Johnson (TN) Dec. 20. Jayla Bibbs currently leads Fisk in scoring and rebounding at 13.8 points and 11.2 rebounds per game on the year. As a team, the Bulldogs average 61.1 points per game, while allowing 36.3. They are currently shooting 36.3-percent from the floor, 27.4-percent from 3-point range and 65.9-percent at the free throw line.
 - With six made 3-pointers against Southern Indiana, the Skyhawks have now made at least one 3-point field goal in 493 consecutive games, a streak which dates back to Feb. 3, 2009, against Austin Peay and currently, ranks 8th nationally.
 - With three rebounds against Southern Indiana, Anaya Brown moved hawks with 516, moving past Anita Terry (78-80) who had 515. She needs just nine rebounds to pass Gwen Long and move into 15th all-time on the Skyhawks career rebound list.
 - Three current Skyhawks are currently making a push to join UT Martin's 1,000-point club. Currently, Anaya Brown (866), Kenley McCarn (766) and Shae Littleford (729) all have a chance to reach the career century mark this season.
