
Skyhawks Jump Into Both National Polls

MARTIN, Tenn. – Following the team's fifth straight victory and a win over a nationally ranked opponent on the road, the University of Tennessee at Martin football team has jumped into both national polls. The Skyhawks rank No. 19 in the latest Stats Perform Top 25 Poll while entering the AFCA Coaches' Poll for the first time this season at No. 22.
The Skyhawks jumped into the national polls once again after picking up their fifth consecutive victory against No. 25 ranked Tennessee State on the road. UT Martin now sits in sole possession of second place in the Big South-OVC standings behind No. 6 ranked Southeast Missouri.
UT Martin ranks in the top-10 nationally in rushing defense (third), defensive touchdowns (sixth), interceptions (sixth), punt returns (seventh) and third down conversion defense (eighth).
The Skyhawks return to action this weekend with their final road game of the regular season with a trip to Big South-OVC opponent Charleston Southern on Saturday, Nov. 9.
