UT Martin is 28-27 all-time in season openers, 31-14 all-time in home openers and 18-10 when opening the season at home. For Coach Kevin McMillan, he is 5-10 in his tenure in season-openers, 8-7 in home openers and 3-4 when opening the season at home. Monday will mark the 29th time in program history that the Skyhawks have begun the season with a home game.

The Skyhawks will return four starters in 2024-25, along with three other letterwinners, 79.1-percent of their scoring and 72.4-percent of their rebounding. In addition to 2023-24 All-OVC first teamers Anaya Brown and Kenley McCarn, 2022-23 All-OVC selection Shae Littleford returns to UT Martin for her junior year, after missing the majority of last season due to injury. Also returning for the Skyhawks is Lexi Rubel who was sixth in the OVC in rebounding a year ago with 7.1 boards per game and fifth in assists per game at 3.6.
THE DYNAMIC DUO
Prior to the season, Anaya Brown and Kenley McCarn were namedd to the 2024-25 OVC Players to Watch list. Brown finished the 2023-24 campaign fifth in the league in scoring at 15.1 points per game and third in rebounding at 8.8. Meanwhile, McCarn put together an outstanding freshman season in which she led the Skyhawks with 16.5 points, the third highest average in the OVC, while also posting 4.5 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game. As a duo, Brown and McCarn combined for 48.5-percent of UT Martin's scoring last year and 39.4-percent of its rebounding.
UT MARTIN FROM DEEP
The Skyhawks have made a three-pointer field goal in 481 consecutive games, a streak which dates back to Feb. 3, 2009, against Austin Peay and ranks 11th nationally.
UT MARTIN's LEGENDARY ALUM, PAT HEAD SUMMITT
UT Martin is the collegiate home of legendary head coach Pat Head Summitt. An inaugural member of the UT Martin Athletics Hall of Fame, Summitt was a member of the basketball team from 1970-74 before serving as a member and co-captain of the United States Women's Olympic Basketball team which won a silver medal in the 1976 Olympics held in Montreal.
Summitt is recognized as one of the greatest women's basketball coaches in history, serving as head coach of the Tennessee Lady Vols for 38 seasons and compiling a 1098-208 record. She also posted a 63-4 international coaching record with various United States teams.

The floor in the Kathleen and Tom Elam Center is named for former Tennessee Lady Vols head coach Pat Head Summitt who played her collegiate basketball at UT Martin (1970-74) before becoming the winningest basketball coach in the NCAA with 1,098 victories and eight national championships.
KATHLEEN AND TOM ELAM CENTER
Built in 1963, the Kathleen and Tom Elam Center was named in honor of longtime UT Board of Trustees member Col. Tom Elam and his wife, Kathleen. The Elam Center houses both the women's and men's basketball teams with all home games being played in Skyhawk Arena. In addition of Skyhawk Arena, which holds a seating capacity of approximately 4,300 seats, the Elam Center also houses both teams' locker rooms, training facility and weight room.
