No. 22 Skyhawks Ready For Senior Day Against Lindenwood
11/19/2024 5:00:00 PM | Football
The No. 22 ranked University of Tennessee at Martin football program will look to finish the regular season strong when playing host to Big South-OVC Football Association foe Lindenwood for Senior Day on Saturday, Nov. 23. Kickoff from Graham Stadium is slated for 2 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
Prior to the game, UT Martin will honor its 17 seniors in their final home game in a Skyhawk uniform. The squad will hold a pregame festivity celebrating the group's accomplishments approximately 20 minutes before kickoff with recognitions of Oshae Baker, Trevonte Rucker, Patrick Smith, Asa Wondeh, DeVonte Tanksley, Zoe Roberts, Chris Hunter, Jr., Kinkead Dent, Jaylon Sharpe, Tevin Shipp, Glover Cook III, Tyler Mullins, Vance Van Every, Drake Carroll, Jeremiah Edwards and Christian Dowell.
Collectively, the Class of 2024 has been a part of three consecutive conference championships in 2021, 2022 and 2023 while posting the program's first FCS playoff victory back in 2021. As a whole, the team has posted a 42-23 overall record (64.6 winning percentage) in regular season contests while seeing that number rise to a 74.3 winning percentage (29-10) against league opponents since 2019.
The Skyhawks (7-4, 5-2 Big South-OVC) are looking to finish the campaign strong after a disappointing loss at home to Tennessee Tech by a single point last weekend. UT Martin had won six straight games entering the contest while posting 13 consecutive victories against league foes in Graham Stadium. With both streaks reset to zero, the Skyhawks still boast a 12-1 record against conference foes at home since the start of the 2021 season.
Lindenwood (5-6, 4-3 Big South-OVC) is outside of the playoff picture heading into the final week of the season but picked up a monumental win two weeks ago when knocking off in-state rival and then No. 6 ranked Southeast Missouri by a 24-12 margin at home. The Lions boast the Association's top rushing offense with 182.5 yards per game while tallying 16 touchdowns on the season and will be paired up against the league's top rushing defense with the Skyhawks allowing just 88.6 yards per game.
This marks just the second meeting between the two programs after Lindenwood joined the Division I ranks prior to the 2022 season. UT Martin won the lone matchup back in 2022 by a final score of 56-26 in a contest which saw the Skyhawks rush for 343 yards on their home field.
The game will be streamed exclusively on ESPN+ while locally fans can tune into the Skyhawk Sports Network to hear Davis Gregory (play-by-play), John Hatler (analyst) and Chris Brinkley (analyst) call the action. Games are broadcast on WCMT "Talk and News You Can Use!" with simulcasts on 1410 AM, 100.5 FM, 92.7 FM, 96.1 FM, 99.7 FM and 103.3 FM.
