KINKEAD DENT NAMED TSWA COLLEGE SPORTS OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Following a breakout performance against Houston Christian, University of Tennessee at Martin graduate quarterback Kinkead Dent was named this week's Tennessee Sports Writers Association College Sports Offensive Player of the Week.
Limited to just three quarters of action, Dent and his receivers dominated the Huskies defense as he completed 20-of-27 pass attempts for 347 yards and five touchdowns in the blowout victory. He completed scoring strikes of 50, 34, 43, six and three yards through the air while also adding a nine-yard rushing touchdown to the stat sheet.
With six total touchdowns in the contest, the Yazoo City, Miss. native became the first Skyhawk quarterback to accomplish the feat against a FCS opponent since 2012. Meanwhile, as a team, the Skyhawks racked up 707 yards of total offense to rank second in program history.
Dent and the Skyhawks will return to action this weekend with a road matchup at North Alabama on Saturday, Sept. 23. Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m. on ESPN+.
