
UT MARTIN IS SET FOR OVC OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIP

MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin track and field program will put their preparations to the test at the Ohio Valley Conference Outdoor Championships. The event will be hosted in Edwardsville, Ill. at Ralph Korte Stadium over three days, beginning Wednesday, May 11 and concluding on Saturday, May 13.
Each day will be streamed on ESPN+ while live results are available at the top of the page. All-Session tickets are $25, while single day tickets are $10 apiece. Tickets can also be purchased on-site at Ralph Korte Stadium.
The championship schedule will feature several prelims on Thursday evening including the 1500m, 400m hurdles and 200m races before wrapping up with the 10k final. Friday afternoon will feature the long jump and 3k steeple finals along with prelims in the 110m hurdles, 400m, 100m and 800m.
Saturday's loaded schedule wraps up the Outdoor Championship with event finals in the high jump, 4x100m, 1500m, 110m hurdles, 400m, 100m, triple jump, 800m, 400m hurdle, 200m, and 5k before concluding with the competitive 4x400m.

Records Broken in 2023
- Khalid White set a program record in the men's 200m dash with a time of 21.65 seconds at the Music City Challenge.
- Ethan Knight set a new Skyhawk school mark in the men's 3k with a time of 8:38.06 at the Cougar Classic on the site of the OVC Championship.
- Sam Shuman set a program record of his own at the Joe Walker Invite with a time of 9:08.63 in the men's 3k steeple.
- Lilia Alvarez also posted a school record of her own in the women's 3k steeple with a time of 11:15.82 at the Music City Challenge.
- Sophomore Sam Shuman has the second-best time in the OVC this season with a time of 9:08.63 at the Joe Walker Invitational.
- Junior Darius Holland ranked second in the OVC in the men's long jump with a distance of 7.49m at the Cougar Classic. Junior MJ Jackson also ranked amongst OVC leaders with a sixth-place ranking after posting a distance of 7.26m at the Joey Haines Invite.
- Freshman Khalid White posted the third fastest 400m time in the OVC this season with his mark of 48.16 seconds at the Music City Challenge. Meanwhile, junior John Collin Askew was close behind while ranking fifth in the OVC with a 400m time of 49.18 seconds at the same meet.
- Graduate Luke McNair ranked as the third fastest OVC competitor in the men's 1500m with a time of 3:49.63 at the ASU Red Wolf Open. Junior Cole Davis also ranks in the top-eight with a time of 3:54.43 at the Joe Walker Invite.
- Sophomore Will Cahill ranks third in the OVC with his 5k time of 14:08.5 at the Drake Relays. McNair also had a strong performance at the same meet, posting the fifth fastest time in the league at 14:22.57.
- After winning the OVC Indoor Championship, freshman JaDerrika Welch-Fields ranks third in the league with a high jump distance of 1.61m.
- Junior Lilia Alvarez ranked fourth in the OVC with a 3k steeple time of 11:15.82 at the Music City Challenge.
- The Skyhawks had two top-eight contributors in the women's 1500m with sophomore Lydia Tankersley sitting in fifth with a time of 4:32.67 while junior Lilia Alvarez ranked eighth at 4:37.89 at the ASU Red Wolf Open.
- Sophomore Lydia Tankersley posted the fourth fastest 800m time in the OVC this season with a mark of 2:12.55 at the Music City Challenge. Meanwhile, Maggie Roy sits eighth with a mark of 2:15.39.
- The Skyhawks 4x100m relay team ranked sixth in the OVC as the group of Ja'Kobe Ward, Khalid White, Brady Fry and Darius Holland posted a time of 42.18 seconds at the ASU Red Wolf Open.
- The Skyhawks 4x100m relay team ranked sixth in the OVC as the group of Addison Taylor, Alaina Gordon, JayleAna Wyatt and Janay Chapman posted a time of 427.39 seconds at the Cougar Classic.
- Freshman JaDerrika Welch-Fields posted the seventh fastest time in the women's 400m hurdles with a mark of 1:06.99.
- Senior Brady Fry posted the eighth fastest time in the 110m hurdles with a mark of 14.74 seconds at the Music City Challenge.
