MARTIN, Tenn. – For the second straight day in the 2023 Ohio Valley Conference Beach Volleyball Championship event, the University of Tennessee at Martin came away with a convincing sweep as the Skyhawks soared past Morehead State this afternoon.

UT Martin (26-8) advances to the OVC championship match for the second consecutive season as it will face the victor of the No. 3 Morehead State/No. 2 Chattanooga match tomorrow. The "winner-take-all" championship match is set for noon at the Skyhawk Beach Volleyball Facility.

Once again, UT Martin applied pressure on its opponent from the start with a pair of victories in the first wave of the match. Haeleigh Paulino and Jenna Vallée generated a 21-7, 21-13 win out of the No. 4 position, improving their season record to 22-3. Kayla Carrell and Ryan Rednour then dug deep for a come-from-behind victory at No. 5, producing a 13-21, 21-11, 15-12 triumph that included a comeback from a 10-3 deficit in the decisive third set.

With a comfortable 2-0 advantage moving into the top three spots in the lineup, the Skyhawks were able to seal the victory with a 23-21, 21-16 win at No. 3 out of Lucy Kaufman/Addy Vaughn – reaching the 20-win plateau as a pair in the process.

Before the third and final point was clinched, Kambree Lucas/Olivia O'Keefe (19-21, 21-10, 9-4 at No. 2) and Dylan Mott/Logan Wallick (21-18, 13-21, 3-3 at No. 1) were in tiebreaking third sets.
