
SKYHAWK BASEBALL SERIES OPENER AT TENNESSEE TECH SUSPENDED UNTIL TOMORROW

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – A lengthy delay interrupted the first game of the University of Tennessee at Martin baseball series at Tennessee Tech this afternoon. The two sides were able to resume the contest until rain and lightning returned to the area, causing a suspension until tomorrow.
The Golden Eagles hold a 12-6 lead with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning and a runner on first base. The game will pick up where it left off at 2 p.m. tomorrow while Game 2 of the series will follow thereafter.
Today's contest was delayed for more than two-and-a-half hours when heavy rainfall arrived at Bush Stadium during the bottom of the third inning. The game resumed around 6:45 p.m. and was on track to finish before Mother Nature once again intervened, forcing the suspension.
