
SKYHAWK SOCCER TO HOST SOUTHERN INDIANA FOR PINK WEEKEND

MARTIN, Tenn.- The University of Tennessee at Martin soccer team will start their final homestand when they welcome in Southern Indiana on Sunday, Oct. 15 at 1 p.m.

UT Martin (5-7-3, 2-2-2) is coming off a narrow loss to Ohio Valley Conference leader Tennessee Tech where the Skyhawks received goals from Makayla Robinson and Rachel Okoro, while Peyton Cook notched her first collegiate assist.

In conference play, the freshman Cook ranks in the top-five in several categories including shots (2nd, 26), shots per match (2nd, 4.33), points (T-5th, five) and goals scored (T-5th, two). With Robinson's goal on Thursday, she has moved into fourth in the OVC in goals with four on the year.

Reigning OVC Defensive Player of the Week Catey Hunt has anchored the back line for UT Martin, playing a team-high 1,347 minutes to pair with the conference lead in game-winning goals (three). Goalkeeper Poppy Bastock is averaging 4.33 saves per match which is third best in OVC play while turning in two clean sheets against conference foes.

Southern Indiana (4-6-5, 3-2-3) brings in the defending OVC Offensive Player of the Week in Peyton Murphy who has helped her squad reach a four-match unbeaten streak. Goalkeeper Anna Markland has been stout with four shutouts in conference play which has led to her being named OVC Goalkeeper of the Week twice in the campaign.
