
UT MARTIN SOCCER WRAPS UP HOMECOMING WEEKEND WITH SUNDAY MATCHUP AGAINST TENNESSEE TECH

MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin soccer team will wrap up Homecoming Week on campus by hosting Ohio Valley Conference foe Tennessee Tech on Sunday, Oct. 2. Action is scheduled to get underway at Skyhawk Field at 1 p.m.
The Skyhawks (2-6-2, 0-2 OVC) are looking for their first league victory of the season after falling to Little Rock (2-1) and Morehead State (3-1) in the opening week. UT Martin received its two goals during OVC action from senior Sophia Mankowski and sophomore Brooke Kala while Izzy Patterson was credited with an assist.
UT Martin's top scorer is forward Megan Drake who passes the team with nine points – including four goals and an assist – on the season. Sophomore forward Makayla Robinson ranks second on the team with a pair of goals and an assist while boasting a team-high 12 shots on goal.
Tennessee Tech (4-4-3, 2-0-1 OVC) enters the contest riding a three-match unbeaten streak while sitting two points out of first place. The Golden Eagles have won their two OVC road matchups with shutout victories against Eastern Illinois (1-0) and Southern Indiana (4-0) while playing to a scoreless tie against Lindenwood.
Sophomore goalkeeper Maggie Conrad ranks as the league's top keeper to date with three consecutive shutouts. The defense has played a big role for the Golden Eagles with just 17 shots allowed in their last three contests while senior Emily Carlevato picked up OVC Defensive Player of the Week honors. Meanwhile, Chloe Smith ranks as Tech's top goal scorer with four on the season while also dishing out three assists.
