
OVC FOOTBALL MEDIA DAY SPOTLIGHT: JASON SIMPSON

University of Tennessee at Martin head football coach Jason Simpson sat down for a one-on-one interview to answer some season preview questions as part of Ohio Valley Conference Media Day earlier this week. Entering his 17th season at the helm of the Skyhawks, Simpson has led the program to a pair of OVC championships and two FCS playoff berths while boasting an overall record of 100-80 while posting a 77-47 mark in league play.
The Skyhawks return four starters on both offense and defense while featuring eight Preseason All-OVC honorees in Zak Wallace (running back), Colton Dowell (wide receiver), Matthan Hatchie (offensive line), Gavin Olson (offensive line), Lamar Morgan (offensive line), Preseason Defensive Player of the Year John H. Ford II (linebacker), Oshae Baker (cornerback) and Deven Sims (safety).
Since taking over as head coach for UT Martin in 2006, the Skyhawks rank as the active league leader in conference victories with 77 wins.
