CONLEY AND CARRELL GO BACK-TO-BACK IN OVC BEACH VOLLEYBALL PAIR OF THE WEEK ACCOLADES

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Addison Conley and Kayla Carrell, stars of the Ohio Valley Conference regular season co-champion University of Tennessee at Martin beach volleyball program, has been spotlighted by the league as its Pair of the Week.
Today's announcement marks the second straight OVC weekly honor for Conley/Carrell and fourth for the Skyhawk program in the last five weeks. Since the league began naming OVC Pairs of the Week in 2020, UT Martin has boasted a winner six times out of a possible 11 opportunities.
Conley/Carrell are coming off an unblemished 4-0 record last week, all coming against OVC opposition. The powerhouse duo did not drop a single set, holding their opponents to a paltry 13.6 points per set average. In the process, Conley/Carrell ran their winning streak out to 11 matches and capped off the regular season with a sensational 21-1 record out of the No. 4 slot.
Competing in the OVC Weekend at Austin Peay in Clarksville, Tenn., Conley/Carrell started with a 21-12, 21-10 win over Austin Peay's Caroline Waite/Janvier Buggs before posting a 21-17, 21-16 triumph against Trinity Miller/Abby Hulsman from Morehead State on Friday.
Conley, a senior from London, Ohio, and Carrell, a junior out of Pensacola, Fla., then earned victories over Eastern Illinois' Anna Moster/Emily Wilcox (21-6, 21-13) and Chattanooga's Victoria Cerino/Madi Morris (21-16, 21-19) to put the finishing touches on the 2022 regular season.
The success of Conley/Carrell played a large part in helping the Skyhawks clinch a share of the school's first-ever OVC beach volleyball title, securing the No. 1 seed for this week's OVC Championship. UT Martin will play either No. 4 seed Morehead State or No. 5 seed Eastern Illinois during the first round on Thursday, April 28 to kick off the three-day double elimination tournament.
