WEATHER FORECAST PUSHES UTM BASEBALL’S MIDWEEK MATCHUP WITH ALABAMA A&M TO WEDNESDAY EVENING

MARTIN, Tenn. – Originally scheduled to host their third consecutive Tuesday night game tomorrow at Skyhawk Field, an unfavorable forecast near the beginning of the week (including heavy rain on the day of play) has delayed the University of Tennessee at Martin baseball team's contest against Alabama A&M. Both parties have since agreed to postpone the midweek meeting to Wednesday with the same targeted start time of 5:00 p.m.
Coincidentally, this is not the first time in 2022 that a planned duel between the Skyhawks and the Bulldogs has been temporarily shelved thanks to Mother Nature. Back in February, UTM was aiming for a road trip to Huntsville before it too was put off due to thunderstorms in the area. That road matchup against Alabama A&M has now turned into the final game of the regular season for head coach Ryan Jenkins' unit, slated for May 17th.
Back in Martin following a three-game series at Western Carolina in Cullowhee, the Skyhawks will hope to keep their perfect record intact against Alabama A&M on Wednesday, winners of all seven past meetings including a 3-0 mark when playing at home.
The Bulldogs were able to seize a Game 1 win over Mississippi Valley State last Friday, but have only mustered a 3-13 overall record over the first month of the season. UT Martin, meanwhile, brings a 7-11 resume with them to Wednesday's non-conference battle.
