SENIOR DAY FOR UT MARTIN TENNIS SET FOR FRIDAY AFTERNOON AGAINST JACKSONVILLE STATE

MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin trio of Amelia Campbell, Mizuki Sakurai and Jule Streif will be honored this Friday, April 9 for Senior Day festivities before the tennis match against Ohio Valley Conference rival Jacksonville State. The home finale is set for 2 p.m. at the Skyhawk Tennis Complex.
UT Martin's senior class has combined for 144 individual victories, 37 of which have occurred against OVC opposition. All three Skyhawks were an integral part of the 2019 squad that became the first-ever No. 6 seed to reach the OVC Championship finals.
A London, England native, Campbell has accumulated 60 career victories at UT Martin, posting 23 singles wins and 37 doubles victories. She has also added a .600 winning percentage (21-14) in league play, including a 13-5 mark against OVC foes in doubles. She has claimed a pair of OVC Medals of Honor for a perfect 4.0 Grade Point Average and also has been named to the OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll on three different occasions.
Sakurai owns 55 career wins as a Skyhawk, piecing together 27 singles victories to go along with 28 doubles wins. The Tokyo, Japan native has registered seven OVC singles victories while tacking on five wins in OVC doubles. She has tallied three OVC Medals of Honor for an unblemished 4.0 GPA and additionally has garnered a spot on the OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll three times.
Hailing from Oberkirch, Germany is Streif, who has notched 29 career wins at UT Martin. That includes 15 singles victories and 14 more wins in doubles competition. She currently leads the squad with a pair of doubles wins in OVC play in 2020-21 while teaming alongside Campbell. Last season, she earned her first OVC Medal of Honor for a perfect 4.0 GPA while she has also been mentioned on the OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll in all three seasons as a Skyhawk.
UT Martin has won six of the last nine matches against the Gamecocks, including the last meeting which was a 4-3 triumph over Jacksonville State in the 2019 OVC Championship semifinals.
The Gamecocks are 8-7 overall with a 3-1 OVC record so far in 2020-21, sitting in second place in the league standings. Harriet Hamilton, who was named as an OVC Preseason Top-10 player, boasts a 13-1 record in singles play and earned OVC Player of the Week on Feb. 24. She joins Dariana Prato (March 24) as Jacksonville State representatives to chalk up top OVC weekly accolades this spring.
