
UT MARTIN SOCCER OPENS FINAL HOMESTAND OF SEASON WITH BIG MATCHUP AGAINST EKU ON FRIDAY

MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin soccer team will play its final two games of the regular season at home, beginning with an important matchup against Ohio Valley Conference foe Eastern Kentucky on Friday, April 2. First touch is scheduled for 6 p.m. from Skyhawk Field.
UT Martin enters the weekend sitting in fourth place in the league standings with 4-3-1 record and 13 total points. The Skyhawks hold a one-point advantage over both Eastern Kentucky (4-4) and Belmont (4-4) while possessing a two-point lead over Jacksonville State (3-4-1) for the final spot in the OVC Soccer Championship four-team field.
The Skyhawks are 10-6-2 all-time against the Colonels while winning the last three matchups since Oct. 19, 2018. UT Martin has outscored EKU by a 10-4 margin in that span while averaging 3.3 goals per match over the last three contests.
Freshman Emely van der Vliet paces the Skyhawk offense with three goals and one assist on the season. The forward has scored in back-to-back contests while tallying a pair of game-winners against Eastern Illinois and Tennessee Tech.
