MARTIN, Tenn. – Off to its best start in Ohio Valley Conference play in a decade, the University of Tennessee at Martin volleyball team looks to keep rolling when it hosts Tennessee Tech at 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 29 and 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 30 at Skyhawk Fieldhouse.
UT Martin is 12-13 overall and 8-4 against conference opposition, which is the program's best 12-match start to an OVC season since the 2011 version of the Skyhawks went 9-3.

The Skyhawks have not lost to Tennessee Tech since 2016 as this will be the first time these teams will play twice in a single season since 2011.
UT Martin ended its four-match road swing on a high note last weekend, collecting a weekend sweep over SIUE (3-1 win on Friday, 3-2 victory on Saturday). Olivia Saunders stood out for the Skyhawks with 3.11 kills per set on a .382 hitting percentage, including a career-best 17 kills during Saturday's triumph. Making her first starts at libero since Aug. 27, Dylan Mott keyed the defense with 4.44 digs per set – including a season-best 22 scoops in Friday's win.
In conference play, UT Martin leads the league with 2.81 blocks per set – led by Zoe Merriweather (league-best 1.43 swats per set). Saunders' .354 attack percentage ranks as the fourth-best mark in the league while Karen Scanlon (fourth with 1.19 blocks per set, eighth with 3.61 points per set) and Haeleigh Paulino (seventh with 0.32 service aces per set and 10th with 5.34 assists per set) also rank in the top-10 in their respective statistical categories.
Tennessee Tech (11-12, 6-6 OVC) is coming off a 3-1 setback at Morehead State on Wednesday, falling 25-16, 23-25, 23-25, 19-25. Madeline Furtado (12 kills on a .333 hitting percentage), Ashley Hand (39 assists), McKenna Young (26 digs) and Skylar Boom (12 blocks) paced the Golden Eagles.
Tennessee Tech is the league's overall leader in blocks, turning away 2.44 attempts per set. The Golden Eagles produced a pair of OVC weekly honorees on Monday as Taylor Dorsey (Defensive) and Hand (Setter) claimed Player of the Week accolades for the second time this season. Dorsey ranks second in the league in attack percentage (.306) and blocks (1.19 per set) while Hand's 10.74 assists per set in OVC play rank third.
