
FOOTBALL SKYHAWKS JUMP TO 12TH IN COACHES IN POLL; STAY AT 13 IN STATS POLL

MARTIN, Tenn. – After picking up their sixth win in a row, the University of Tennessee at Martin football team moved up one position in the AFCA FCS Coaches' Top 25, sitting at No. 12 in the weekly national poll. Meanwhile, the Skyhawks remained at No. 13 in the Stats Perform FCS Top 25 Poll.
UT Martin were previously ranked 13th in both the AFCA Coaches' Poll and Stats Perform Poll. UT Martin is the only Ohio Valley Conference program to be ranked or receive votes in either poll. The team's No. 12 ranking sits as the highest for the program since Week 13 of the 2006 season when UT Martin also ranked 12th heading into the FCS Playoffs.
The Skyhawks (6-1, 2-0 OVC) have won six straight contests – including a 38-30 home victory against Southeast Missouri last weekend. The team's winning streak sits as the second-best span under the direction of head coach Jason Simpson while trailing only the program's 1988 and 2006 eight-game winning streaks for the best in school history.
UT Martin currently ranks in the top-25 in 12 different team categories and 11 individual categories. The squad also sits amongst the nation's top 15 teams in time of possession (33:56, 7th) rushing offense (228.7, 8th), sacks allowed (0.86, 8th), winning percentage (85.7, 8th), third-down conversion percentage (46.2, 11th), interceptions (nine, 14th), fourth-down conversion percentage defense (33.3, 15th) and blocked punts (one, 15th).
Additionally, the Skyhawks lead the OVC in 10 statistical categories including scoring offense (33.9 ppg), rushing offense (228.7 ypg), pass efficiency (140.6), interceptions (nine), PAT kicking (100 percent), sacks against (six), third-down conversions (46.2 percent), fourth-down conversions (54.5 percent), opponent fourth-down conversions (33.3 percent) and time of possession (33:54).
