
CHELSEY PERRY CLAIMS HER ELEVENTH CAREER OVC PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONOR; GARNERS TWSA HONORS

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – For the third time this season and the 11th time in her career, University of Tennessee at Martin women's basketball standout forward Chelsey Perry has been named Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week after a pair of standout performances against nationally ranked Louisville and Tennessee State. She was also named the Tennessee Sports Writers Association Women's Basketball Player of the Week.
The Middleton, Tenn. native continues her hot start to the season by averaging 29.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 1.0 blocks in two games. Along with her high scoring output, she was highly efficient from the floor, converting 22-of-36 attempts (61.1 percent) from the field and 4-of-8 attempts (50.0 percent) from beyond the arc.
Perry began the week with her third double-double of the season against No. 2 Louisville with 26 points and 10 rebounds while shooting 50 percent from the floor. She followed that up with a season-high 32 points along with seven rebounds and four steals at Tennessee State in just 23 minutes of action while shooting 72.2 percent from the floor and 75.0 percent from three. Her two outings pushed her streak to six straight games with 20 points or more to start the season.
Perry ranks second nationally with 27.7 points per game while ranking amongst OVC leaders in scoring (first), defensive rebounds (first), three-point percentage (first), field goal percentage (second), minutes played (second), three-pointer field goals (third), rebounding (sixth) and free throw percentage (ninth).
