MARTIN, Tenn. – It was announced today that the University of Tennessee at Martin will host Western Illinois University for a nonconference men's basketball matchup on Sunday, Dec. 20. Tipoff time from the Kathleen and Tom Elam Center is set for 5 p.m. No fans will be allowed as only team complimentary ticket holders will be allowed entry.
Today's addition results in a busy four-games-in-eight-days stretch for the Skyhawks, who are coming off a 95-60 home win over Bethel on Tuesday. UT Martin pays a visit to Ohio Valley Conference foe Southeast Missouri on Dec. 18 and will also travel to Ole Miss on Dec. 22 to wrap up its pre-holiday slate.
The Skyhawks are a perfect 3-0 all-time against Western Illinois as this will be the third consecutive season that UT Martin has squared off against the Summit League representative. The Leathernecks are off to a 1-4 start in 2020-21 under new head coach Rob Jeter, last playing on Dec. 12 at in-state OVC foe Eastern Illinois.
