UT MARTIN WOMEN’S BASKETBALL RANKS NO. 10 IN PRESEASON WOMEN’S MID-MAJOR TOP 25

MARTIN, Tenn. – With the start of the regular season underway around the country, the University of Tennessee at Martin women's basketball team has been tabbed one of the nation's top programs in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25, ranking No. 10 in the preseason poll.
The Skyhawks ranked as high as 25th in the weekly poll last season while receiving votes numerous times. This is believed to be UT Martin's highest-ever ranking in the Mid-Major Top 25 preseason poll.
Now in its 11th season of existence, the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25 is made up of teams from the following conferences: America East, Atlantic Sun, Big Sky, Big South, Big West, Colonial, Horizon, Ivy, Metro Atlantic, Mid-American, Mid-Eastern, Missouri Valley, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Patriot, Southern, Southland, Southwestern, Summit, Sun Belt, West Coast, Western Athletic.
UT Martin is the only Ohio Valley Conference program recognized in the Mid-Major Top 25, sitting 10th with 445 points. Other league programs garnering votes include Belmont (62), Austin Peay (18), Southeast Missouri (17) and Murray State (4).
Missouri State currently sits in first place, garnering 17 first place votes and 708 points overall. South Dakota (6, 701), Gonzaga (6, 657), Central Michigan (636), James Madison (630), FGCU (2, 583), IUPUI (490), South Dakota State (477), Ohio (457) and UT Martin round out the top-10.
