UT MARTIN SOCCER FALLS SHORT TO SEC FOE MISSISSIPPI STATE ON THE ROAD

STARKVILLE, Miss. – The University of Tennessee at Martin soccer team proved to be overmatched on Thursday night, falling 3-0 to Southeastern Conference foe Mississippi State on the road.
Fresh off the program's first NCAA Tournament appearance a season ago, Mississippi State (4-1) outshot the visiting Skyhawks 22-2 in the contest while scoring three goals – including two in the second half.
The Skyhawks (1-2-2) tallied two shots on the evening, coming from the pair of Alice Adams and Skylar Boes. Meanwhile in goal, Erica Myers tallied seven saves between the posts while allowing three goals in 90 minutes of action.
UT Martin will return to action on Sunday, Sept. 8 when closing out a four-game road trip with a matchup at Middle Tennessee.
