The Skyhawks are in the Mayan Division of the tournament, which also includes Boston University, Gardner-Webb and Northern Colorado. The Riviera Division of the field consists of Northern Iowa, South Carolina, West Virginia and Wichita State.
"The Cancun Challenge is one of the premier tournaments in the country," UT Martin head coach Anthony Stewart said. We're looking forward to playing some competitive basketball during the Thanksgiving week."
The Cancun Challenge includes games played at host sites in the United States as well as games played in the modified ballroom at the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya. The Skyhawks begin their tournament participation on Saturday, Nov. 16 at Wichita State, followed by a Tuesday, Nov. 19 showdown at Northern Iowa. UT Martin then travels to sunny Playa del Carmen to take on Gardner-Webb on Tuesday, Nov. 26 before playing either Boston or Northern Colorado on Wednesday, Nov. 27.
