UT MARTIN TRACK AND FIELD SET TO COMPETE AT OVC INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS THIS WEEK

MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin track and field squads will put its training to the test this week when competing in the Ohio Valley Conference Indoor Track Championships beginning on Wednesday, Feb. 20 through Thursday, Feb. 21 at the Birmingham CrossPlex, in Birmingham, Ala.
The 2019 OVC Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Championship will be held at the Birmingham CrossPlex, which will host the 2019 and 2022 NCAA Indoor Championships. With the CrossPlex being home to one of the fastest indoor hydraulic tracks in the world, this season marks the first time the OVC Indoor Championship has been held at a neutral site.
The Skyhawks enter the OVC Indoor Championship looking to make some waves. Recently named OVC Male Athlete of the Week Tyreke Sapp has ranked amongst the league's best in the 60m (third-best time), 200m (top time) and 400m (second-best time) this season while Jonathan Conley and Leonel Perez have notched top-5 times in the 800m. Meanwhile, Oisin O'Gailin (third in mile), Breanna Alderton (second in mile) and Brady Fry (third in 60h) have also posted impressive times amongst their peers.
Tickets for the event may be purchases at the front gate at the CrossPlex. Adult All-Session passes are $10 while adult single day tickets are $5. Children 13 and under All-session passes are $5 while tickets for children 13 and under along with OVC student single day tickets are just $2. Parking at the event is $5.
