MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin equestrian squad, ranked 10th nationally, earned a 14-2 victory over Mississippi State in an exhibition today at the Ned McWherter Agricultural Pavilion.
          Â
The Skyhawks swept all four points in equitation on the flat and in reining while nabbing three wins apiece in equitation over fences and horsemanship. Quinn Reed (equitation over fences), Jade Bleskey (horsemanship), Johnie Parker (equitation on the flat) and Brooke Bradley (reining) accounted for MOP performances in their respective events to help pace UT Martin to the win.
          Â
In equitation over fences, Reed's 77-point MOP performance led the way. Kenzie Mezrah (75 points) and Mackenzie Palmer (40 points) also earned victories to give the Skyhawks the early 3-1 advantage.
          Â
Bleskey's 71 points was good enough for an MOP award in horsemanship. The freshman duo of Natalie Armstrong and Kyra Petty also chalked up victories with rides of 72.5 and 69.5 points, respectively.
          Â
Parker came away with a dominant MOP showing in equitation on the flat, as her score of 80 was 28 points better than her competitor. Sydney Lintner (69 points), Katelyn Schultz (67) and Payton Johnson also posted commanding victories in the event.
          Â
In reining, it was Bradley who led the pack of Skyhawks with a 74.5 MOP performance. McAuley Ross also tallied a victory with a 73-point effort while Maddie Mykolaitis (72) and Emily Zegiestowsky (71) completed the reining sweep for UT Martin.
          Â
The Skyhawks have one more tuneup before hosting the United Equestrian Conference Championship, as UT Martin hosts Miami (Ohio) for an exhibition on March 14.
