
UT MARTIN LANDS SIX NATIONAL INTERCOLLEGIATE RODEO ASSOCIATION SCHOLAR AMERICAN RECIPIENTS

WALLA WALLA, Wash. – The National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association has unveiled 206 Scholar American recipients and six University of Tennessee at Martin representatives find themselves on the prestigious list.
The Scholar American accolade is bestowed on NIRA members that have earned points at a 2018-19 NIRA-sanctioned rodeo, been in college for more than one term, earned at least a 3.5 cumulative Grade Point Average and have been nominated by their coach.
Representing the UT Martin men's team on the list is Robert Haley, Weston Hamilton and Cody Hogan. Haley is a senior agricultural business major from Fairhope, Ala. while Hamilton hails from Tellico Plains, Tenn. and is a sophomore majoring in mechanical engineering. Hogan is a sophomore out of Chapel Hill, Tenn. who is currently majoring in agricultural production.
A trio of UT Martin cowgirls also grace the list as Casey Allen, Shayne Mallory and Raegan Taylor each earned the academic honor. Allen is a senior from Vandergrift, Pa. who is majoring in marketing while Mallory is a sophomore accounting and finance major out of Miller, Mo. Taylor, a Camden, Tenn. native, graduated with a degree in health and human performance last spring.
