
SKYHAWKS PLACE SIX ON PHIL STEELE POSTSEASON OVC ALL-CONFERENCE TEAMS

MARTIN, Tenn. – Six University of Tennessee at Martin football players were tabbed to the 2018 Phil Steele Postseason Ohio Valley Conference All-Conference Teams.
Senior linebacker James Gilleylen and sophomore placekicker Ryan Courtright were named to the first team. Senior linebacker Kevin Prather, Jr., sophomore kick returner Peyton Logan and junior punt returner Terry Williams were selected to the second team. Meanwhile, junior defensive lineman Julian Crutchfield and Williams – as a wide receiver – were third team selections.
A native of Tupelo, Miss., Gilleylen wrapped up his Skyhawk career in the program record book. Gilleylen finished the season with a team-high 89 tackles while notching 13.0 tackles for loss totaling 55 yards – including 2.5 sacks. He also tallied four quarterback hurries and a pair of pass breakups on the campaign. He ranked seventh in the OVC in total tackles while ranking fourth in tackles for loss. He would finish the season on an impressive note with 40 tackles split over the final three games of the season for an average of 13.3 per game down the stretch. With his strong campaign, Gilleylen leaves UT Martin ranked ninth on the program's career tackles list with 297 stops.
Hailing from Lexington, Tenn., Courtright ranked as one of the best kicking specialists in the country during his sophomore campaign. He ranked eighth nationally and first in the OVC by making 86.7 percent of his field goal attempts while ranking 26th in field goals per game (1.18). For the season he made 13-of-15 field goal attempts while converting 35-of-38 point after attempts. He scored 74 points on the season and 6.7 per game. His longest field goal of the season was a pair of 44-yard field goals against Middle Tennessee and Southeast Missouri.
A native of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Prather wrapped up his Skyhawk career with another strong season. Prather ranked second on the team with 70 tackles while leading the squad with 14.0 tackles for loss. Included in his tackles for loss were four sacks while notching eight quarterback hurries and a pair of pass breakups. He ranked 14th nationally with 1.6 tackles for loss per game which also led the OVC while tallying 7.8 tackles per game. The linebacker also started every game he played of his career dating back to his true-freshman season.
Hailing from Horn Lake, Miss., Logan showed his playmaking ability once again as a specialist, ranking 11th nationally with a kickoff return for a touchdown. Logan returned 10 kicks for 282 yards and a touchdown – including a 75-yard touchdown against Austin Peay. He averaged 28.2 yards per return. As a running back he tallied 45 carries for 223 yards while notching nine receptions for 52 yards.
A native of Southaven, Miss., Williams exploded onto the scene for the Skyhawks during his debut campaign. Williams tallied 67 receptions for 736 yards and three touchdowns on the season. His 67 receptions ranked third in the OVC while ranking 19th nationally. Along with his playmaking ability in the pass game, Williams could make big plays on special teams as a returner. He returned 10 kicks for 134 yards while averaging 11.7 yards per punt return on 18 returns totaling 211 yards.
Hailing from Lebanon, Tenn., Crutchfield has become a mainstay on the Skyhawk defensive line. Crutchfield finished the season with 41 tackles while creating havoc in the backfield with 9.0 tackles for loss totaling 36 yards – including a pair of sacks. His 9.0 tackles for loss ranked 16th in the OVC while sitting third on the team. He tallied three games with five more tackles, including a season-high seven tackles against Austin Peay and No. 10 Jacksonville State. He also notched a pair of tackles for loss against Middle Tennessee while notching a forced fumble against No. 10 Jacksonville State.
