BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – For the fourth time this season, University of Tennessee at Martin forward Damiah Griffin has been named adidas Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Week after a pair of strong performances to open league play.
Griffin began her week by just narrowly missing double figures, scoring nine points while tallying a pair of rebounds, two steals and block in 15 minutes against Eastern Illinois. She later served as a spark plug for the Skyhawks against Southeast Missouri, coming off the bench to score 13 points on 4-of-7 shooting while making 5-of-6 free throw attempts. Of her 13 points, 11 of which came in the second half alone to spur a comeback victory which saw the Skyhawks down 18 points in the third quarter.

This marks Griffin's fourth OVC Freshman of the Week honor, joining Heather Butler, Jasmine Newsome, Ashia Jones and Kendall Spray as the only players to notch at least four weekly honors in program history.
Griffin and the Skyhawks will return to action on Thursday, Jan. 10 when playing host to Murray State. Tipoff from the Kathleen and Tom Elam Center is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
