BRITTNI MOORE NOTCHES SECOND ADIDAS OVC FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK HONOR

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – University of Tennessee at Martin women's basketball wing Brittni Moore was rewarded for her impressive play against Eastern Illinois and SIUE by picking up her second adidas Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Week honor of the season on Tuesday.
Moore capitalized on her first career start for the Skyhawks by scoring a career-high 22 points to lead all scorers along with four rebounds against Eastern Illinois. With the contest, she became just the fourth individual player to eclipse the 20-point plateau in a contest this season while besting her previous career-high by seven points. She came back against SIUE to tally six points, six rebounds and three steals against SIUE. For the week she averaged 14.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.5 steal and 1.5 assists per game.
A native of Memphis, Moore has scored in double figures seven times – including in five of the last seven outings. During conference play alone, she ranks second amongst all freshmen in scoring with 11.4 points per game.
Moore and the Skyhawks will return to action with a road contest at Tennessee State on Thursday, Jan. 31. Tipoff from the Gentry Center is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
