Football has been a storied part of the state of Tennessee's history for decades. Dating back to the 2010 season, UT Martin ranks fourth in the state - including all Division I universities - in total victories with 51. Additionally, the Skyhawks are 13-2 against in-state foes since 2014.
3. On This Date in UT Martin History
When the Skyhawks take the field on Saturday it will be the sixth time in program history that UT Martin has played on the 8th of September. Overall, UT Martin is 1-4 on games played on Sept. 8 dating back to 1973.

5. Returning to the Fold
With 9:34 to play in the second quarter of the season opener at Missouri, junior Jaimiee Bowe returned to the endzone for the first time since 2016. Bowe – a 2017 Preseason All-OVC honoree – missed the entire 2017 campaign after suffering an Achilles injury early in fall camp. After battling through months of rehab, Bowe punctuated a seven-play scoring drive with his 10th career rushing touchdown to put the Skyhawks on the board.Players Mentioned
