UT Martin Boast Three Graduate Student-Athletes

The National Football Foundation (NFF) & College Hall of Fame released a list of 1,200 student-athletes who have already earned their undergraduate degrees and will be playing college football this fall while pursuing second diplomas. The numbers include 836 players from 125 schools in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS), 220 players from 62 schools in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS), 123 players from 34 schools in Division II, nine players from nine schools in Division III and 12 players from five schools in the NAIA. The Skyhawks are represented on the list by Porter Streator III, Marcus LeFlore and Ty Jobe.

Skyhawks Tie Program Record Against Austin Peay

A big part in the Skyhawks' 37-7 victory over Austin Peay on Sept. 22 came on the shoulders of the team's dominant defense. The Govs would be limited to just 60 yards of total offense in the final three quarters of play, due in large part to 15 tackles for loss by the Skyhawks in the contest - tying the program's Division I single-game record. As a whole, UT Martin has tallied five games with 15 tackles for loss as a FCS member institution.

Logan Takes It To The House…Again

For the second time in his career, Preseason All-OVC sophomore specialist Peyton Logan found an opening and didn't stop running until he crossed into the endzone. With a short field set up following a penalty, Logan took advantage against Austin Peay on Sept. 22, returning a kickoff return to open the second half 75 yards for a touchdown. The touchdown marked the second return of his career, joining a 95-yard return against Eastern Kentucky on Oct. 21, 2017. Logan is the first Skyhawk to tally multiple kick returns for touchdowns in his career since Kevin Barfield accomplished the feat in 2011 and 2012.
