UT MARTIN TENNIS TO HOST SKYHAWK FALL INVITE THIS WEEKEND

MARTIN, Tenn. – Fans of the University of Tennessee at Martin tennis program will get to catch their first glimpse of this year's squad when the team plays host to the three-team Skyhawk Fall Invitational on Friday, Sept. 28 and Saturday, Sept. 29.
UT Martin welcomes in Southern Indiana and Martin Methodist to the Skyhawk Tennis Complex for the two-day event. This will be UT Martin's 2018-19 home debut as the Skyhawks do not play again at home until March 29 against Ohio Valley Conference rival Belmont.
The tournament begins on Friday night as UT Martin's singles "A" lineup takes on Southern Indiana at 5:30 p.m. The tournament continues with the featured event at 8 p.m. – a Skyhawk matchup against Southern Indiana in the doubles "A" lineup, which will be an eight-game pro-set.
Free t-shirts and hot dogs will be given out throughout the 8 p.m. matchup on Friday. After the final match, fans are invited to "Meet the Skyhawks" as UT Martin players will be available to sign autographs and take photographs.
Saturday's action begins at 9 a.m. with UT Martin and Southern Indiana facing off in "B" singles. The Skyhawks take on Martin Methodist in doubles at 10:30 a.m. before clashing against Southern Indiana in "B" doubles at 11:30 a.m. Following a brief lunch break, Southern Indiana and Martin Methodist will square off in doubles at 1:30 p.m. before UT Martin battles Martin Methodist in singles at 2:30 p.m. The tournament concludes with a 3:30 p.m. singles match between Southern Indiana and Martin Methodist.
This tournament is the second of five tournaments and two head-to-head matches on the Skyhawks' 2018 fall schedule. UT Martin officially began its season two weeks ago at the APSU Fall Invitational, notching eight singles wins and four doubles victories against seven top regional schools.
