Video interviews are with graduate running back Marcus LeFlore and senior defensive end Anthony Brown.
MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin football team got right to work on Saturday evening, concluding Practice #14 with its second scheduled scrimmage of fall camp at Hardy M. Graham Stadium.
With the practice efficiently split up to capitalize the teaching moments and replicate the game-experience, the Skyhawks worked in full 11-on-11 contact, an 8-of-8 segment and various special teams situations. As a whole, the Skyhawks made the most of over 110 plays on Saturday evening with each element of the team showing bright spots.
Offense
The Skyhawk offensive unit notched 14 first downs on the evening with differing paces of play sprinkled throughout the play calling. The white squad ran 47 pass attempts and 42 run calls while scoring six touchdowns.
Defense
The Skyhawk defense made life difficult on the offensive unit by collapsing the pocket for the quarterback while limiting the rushing attack for much of the evening. As a whole, the Skyhawks recorded six sacks on the night, led by three by Kevin Prather, Jr., two by Anthony Brown and one by Austin Pickett. The squad would force one turnover with an interception by Lamarcus Young while Joseph Murry posted a nice evening with a pair of pass breakups and two quarterback hurries.
Special Teams
Redshirt-sophomore Ryan Courtright made one field goal attempt on the night, capitalizing on a 42-yard attempt. The pair of Courtright and Ryan Clark also each converted a PAT.
The Skyhawks will enjoy an off day on Sunday before wrapping up the fall camp segment with six consecutive practices beginning on Monday evening and running through Saturday afternoon.
