DAMIAH GRIFFIN EARNS NAMED ADIDAS OVC FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK FOR THIRD TIME

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – For the third time this season, University of Tennessee at Martin forward Damiah Griffin has been named adidas Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Week for her performance against Mississippi Valley State this past weekend.
A native of Memphis, Tenn., Griffin was highly efficient in just 14 minutes of play by nearly notching a double-double. While on the court she tallied 10 points and nine rebounds in the contest, marking her seventh game in double figures this season. In addition to her pair of assists and a steal, she posted a plus/minus of +26 in the contest.
Griffin and the Skyhawks will open OVC play on Thursday, Jan. 3 when traveling to Eastern Illinois with tipoff scheduled for 5:15 p.m. from Lantz Arena.
