
UT MARTIN WOMEN’S HOOPS ADDS FOUR DURING EARLY SIGNING PERIOD

MARTIN, Tenn. – University of Tennessee at Martin head coach Kevin McMillan has announced the additions of Hayley Harrison (Winchester, Ky.), Raegan Johnson (Martin, Tenn.), Macy Rippy (Clarksville, Tenn.) and Dasia Young to the team's 2019 recruiting class.
"This class can address some issues that we have right now with a lot of size," McMillan said. "All of these kids can press, they are athletic and very mobile. There is state tournament experience with the class, so they know how to win. All of them have garnered a lot of individual honors throughout their careers and they are a great fits for our program. When you add everything up, versatility is a good word for this group. They are great kids, great teammates and come from great programs and families. We look forward to bringing them to UT Martin."
"Hayley is a tremendously talented wing who can play positions 1-4," McMillan said. "She shoots it well from three and attacks well. The best thing for her is that she plays so hard and never gives up on plays, she is fearless. She can really catch your eyes with the effort she gives night in and night out. I think she'll be an unbelievable addition because of her versatility."
"Raegan is a very mobile post player from a school just down the road," McMillan said. "She has great hands and a wonderful touch around the rim. With her size, she moves very well and has a great body to help us out inside when we need it. When you add that she's been a big factor on several state tournament teams, she is a tremendous fit."
"Macy is a very versatile guard that can play positions 1-3 on the floor," McMillan said. "She can really shoot it well, is athletic and plays hard – all of which will fit into what we are trying to do. We challenged her to get in better shape and to play harder and she has really met our expectations this summer. She is really smooth and has a great feel for the game."
"Dasia plays hard and can absolutely rebound which is something we need," McMillan said. "She is versatile on the perimeter and can provide play a multitude of positions. She is yet another that comes from another state championship caliber team that can do big things at the 3-5 positions. She is a competitor that can impact with ends of the floor."

Hayley Harrison, G/F, 5-10, Fr., Winchester, Ky. (George Rogers Clark HS)
Harrison is a 5-10 wing from George Rogers Clark High School where she plays for head coach Robbie Graham. She helped lead the Lady Cardinals to a 28-8 overall record and a spot in the KHSAA Girl Sweet Sixteen Basketball Tournament semifinals. As a junior, she played in 33 games while tallying 13.1 points and 2.5 rebounds per game along with shooting 50 percent from the floor. She made 58 three-pointers while shooting 43.6 percent from beyond the arc. For her strong season she was named to the 2018 Kentucky Junior All-Stars team."Hayley is a tremendously talented wing who can play positions 1-4," McMillan said. Raegan Johnson, F, 6-2, Fr., Martin, Tenn. (Westview HS)
Johnson is a 6-2 forward from Westview High School where she plays for head coach Brian Haskins. As a junior she averaged 8.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game while shooting 67 percent from the floor for a team which notched three consecutive state tournament appearances. She helped lead the Lady Chargers to a District 13-AA and Region 7-AA championship as a junior while earning preseason all-district honors heading into her senior year."Raegan is a very mobile post player from a school just down the road," McMillan said. Macy Rippy, G, 5-9, Fr., Clarksville, Tenn. (Rossview HS)
Rippy is a 5-9 guard from Rossview High School where she plays for head coach Justin Woods. As a junior, she averaged 12.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.6 steals per game to earn Leaf-Chronicle All-Area honors. A two-time District 10-AAA selection, she has tallied 831 points, 225 rebounds, 170 assists and 120 steals for her career."Macy is a very versatile guard that can play positions 1-3 on the floor," McMillan said. "She can really shoot it well, is athletic and plays hard – all of which will fit into what we are trying to do. Dasia Young, F, 5-11, Fr., Jonesboro, Ark. (Nettleton HS)
Young is a 5-11 forward from Nettleton High School where she plays for head coach Jason Smith. She helped lead the Raiders to a 29-3 mark as a junior before ultimately falling at the state semifinals for the third consecutive season. As a junior she tallied 9.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.9 steals, 1.0 assists and 1.0 blocks per game while shooting 53 percent from the field.
