After months of construction, the beach volleyball complex was completed on Feb. 5, 2019. The facility is located by the near the tennis courts on Pat Head Summitt Drive and features three sand courts that are raised two feet above ground level.
The complex, which includes 100 tons of sand and was built with assistance from Allen Searcy Builder Contractor in nearby Union City, Tenn., features two sets of bleachers for optimal viewing. It made its debut when the first-ever home beach volleyball match occurred on UT Martin’s campus against Southern Miss on March 13, 2019 and was also host for the inaugural Ohio Valley Conference Beach Volleyball Championship tournament from April 29 through May 1, 2021.
