BEFORE UTM: Prepped at Hoover High School where he played for head coach Josh Niblett...Completed 186 pass attempts for 2,776 yards and 28 touchdowns as a senior...Averaged 231.1 yards per game while completely 60.2 percent of his pass attempts...Posted a quarterback rating of 119.4 for the season while throwing for over 300 yards on three occasions...His best game came against Oak Mountain where he completed 18 pass attempts for 340 yards and five touchdowns...Rewarded for his strong season by being named to the All-South Metro Team honorable mention squad.
