Nate Stout enters his third season on the UT Martin football staff in 2026, continuing to serve as the Skyhawks’ offensive line coach while also working with the tight ends. Stout has played an important role in the continued development of one of the program’s most productive offensive units since joining the staff in 2024.
Assisting offensive coordinator Kevin Bannon on the offensive line, Stout has seen the #BossHogs develop into one of the best offensive line units at the FCS with five all-conference selections and a three of All-American selections in just two years. During that time, the Stout has mentored three All-Americans with Elijah Bowser, Drake Carroll and Vance Van Every while that trio joins Jai'Lun Hampton and Josiah Tingley as all-conference honorees.
During his first season with the Skyhawks, Stout helped guide an offense that captured its fourth consecutive conference championship while establishing school records for total offense with 5,249 yards, first downs with 255 and rushing touchdowns with 28. UT Martin also led the Big South-OVC in scoring offense at 31.4 points per game and ranked first in the league in red-zone efficiency at 87.8 percent.
The 2025 campaign saw the Skyhawks protect a quarterback which ranked fifth nationally in completion percentage (71.2 percent) and led an offense which paced the Association with 197.6 rushing yards per game.
Stout arrived at UT Martin following the 2023 season at East Tennessee State, where he served as an offensive quality control coach and assistant offensive line coach. His coaching career also includes two seasons at Hopkinsville High School in Kentucky, where he served as run game coordinator and offensive line coach in 2021 and 2022.
Earlier in his career, Stout served as offensive line coach at Centennial High School during the 2019 and 2020 seasons and held the same position at MacMurray College in 2018. He began his coaching career at his alma mater, Tennessee Tech, where he worked as an equipment manager from 2014-17 before transitioning to an assistant offensive line coaching role in 2017.
A 2017 graduate of Tennessee Tech, Stout earned his bachelor’s degree in education.
