Ansley and Allen Claim OVC Player of the Week Honors

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – After an impressive showing against Chicago State, the University of Tennessee at Martin football duo of running back Tommy Ansley (Offensive Player of the Week) and linebacker Reginald Allen Jr. (Defensive Player of the Week) garnered their respective Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week honors.
UT Martin posted a big 42-7 victory in Saturday evening's matchup against Chicago State. In the contest, the Skyhawks rushed for six touchdowns while the defense held Cougars scoreless over the final 52 minutes of the game.
A native of Palm Desert, Calif., Ansley posted the best game of his Skyhawk career. After notching his first multi-touchdown performance in the season opener, the junior took his game to another level against Chicago State by tallying 16 carries while setting new career highs in rushing yards (118) and touchdowns (three). The dynamic threat became the 14th player in program history to rush for three or more touchdowns in a contest and the first since 2024.
Hailing from Palatka, Fla., Allen has made a big impact through the first two games of his Skyhawk career. The redshirt-junior led the Skyhawks with eight total tackles in the team's win over Chicago State, recording three solo stops. He also made things difficult in the backfield for the Cougars after tallying 1.5 tackles for loss.
