Titus Nets Second Straight Shutout in Skyhawks’ Draw with Middle Tennessee

MARTIN, Tenn. – Goalkeeper Mac Titus made three saves to earn her second consecutive clean sheet, as the University of Tennessee at Martin soccer team battled Middle Tennessee to a scoreless draw Tuesday night at the Skyhawk Soccer Field.
Titus made two saves in the first half and one in the second. The Blue Raiders' best chance of the night came in the 37th minute, when Hailey Phillip perfectly slotted a ball right under the crossbar, only to be punched out by a leaping Titus at the last second.
The Skyhawks had two good looks of their own in the match from Peyton Cook in the 51st minute and Alex Weihs in the 58th. Unni Wolf led UT Martin with three shots in the game, while Cook had two.
UT Martin outshot Middle Tennessee, 7-4 in the match, and had more corner kicks, also 7-4. In addition, the Skyhawks edged out the Blue Raiders in total free kicks in the match at 11-10.
The Skyhawks are now 1-0-2 on the year and have allowed just one goal in 270 minutes of play.
The Skyhawks return to action Sunday when they travel to Normal to take on the Redbirds of Illinois State at 6 p.m. on ESPN+.
