UT Martin Ranked 22nd in AFCA FCS Coaches Top 25 Poll

MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin football team will open the season ranked in both preseason polls after beginning the campaign No. 22 in the first AFCA FCS Coaches Poll.
The Skyhawks have won or shared four of the past five Ohio Valley Conference championships (2021, 2022, 2023, 2024) and have won FCS Playoff games in each 2021 and 2024. UT Martin begins its 21st season under head coach Jason Simpson, who needs just three conference victories to move into second-place in OVC history.
UT Martin picked up six of the eight first-place votes in topping the OVC preseason poll with 47 points. The squad will feature a new look in 2026 with 53 newcomers joining a group of eight returning starters from last season.
