MARTIN, Tenn. – The last week of the 2025-26 University of Tennessee at Martin men's basketball regular season kicks off tomorrow with a matchup against Ohio Valley Conference rival Tennessee Tech at the Kathleen and Tom Elam Center. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. (following the conclusion of the women's game as part of a doubleheader).
The Skyhawks have already locked up a top-five seed in next week's OVC Championship tournament and can clinch at least a first-round bye with one more win or one Lindenwood loss over the final week of the regular season.
UT Martin (20-9, 12-6 OVC) is in search of a season sweep of the Golden Eagles as the Skyhawks won the first matchup between these two sides, 86-62 on Dec. 20. In that game, UT Martin connected on 72 percent (18-of-25) of its field goal tries in the second half - its highest field goal percentage against an OVC squad since Feb. 28, 2004 and most efficient overall shooting half since Dec. 17, 2016. Andrija Bukumirović went off for a career-best 28 points on a scorching 12-of-15 shooting while Matas Deniusas added 16 points for the Skyhawks.
UT Martin is back in action for the first time in a week, wrapping up a grueling stretch of nine games in 22 days last Thursday at Little Rock. The Skyhawks led for 26:50 of clock time and snatched 25 offensive rebounds (third-most in an OVC game in league history) but fell 67-65 on a go-ahead buzzer-beater. Bukumirović led UT Martin with 22 points and eight rebounds while AJ Hopkins provided 11 points in 19 minutes off the bench.
Tennessee Tech (13-16, 8-10 OVC) enters this contest as winners of six of its last eight decisions, including its third victory in a row last Saturday against Lindenwood. The trio of Brandon Muntu, JaJuan Nicholls and Ty Owens each scored 16 points apiece while Mekhi Cameron posted 12 points to power the Golden Eagles to a 72-57 triumph.
Cameron's 19 points (on 7-of-9 shooting) topped Tennessee Tech against the Skyhawks earlier this season as 10 different Golden Eagles scored in that outing.
