MARTIN, Tenn. – Four University of Tennessee at Martin equestrian riders will make their final appearances inside the Ned McWherter Agricultural Complex and Graves Stables this weekend as the Skyhawks host Eastern College Athletic Conference rivals Delaware State (9 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 20) and Minnesota-Crookston (11:05 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 21).
Stevie Brown, Shelby Davis, Kathleen DeGenova and Kailyn Veale will each be recognized after the conclusion of Saturday's meet as part of Senior Day festivities (approximately 4:15 p.m.). Those four have been an integral part of UT Martin's winning culture over the last four seasons as the Skyhawks claimed their first-ever ECAC title and NCEA Championship at-large appearance last spring.
A Shelby, NC native, Brown has earned a starting role in reining this season – winning in the first official start of her career back on Oct. 4 against Minnesota-Crookston. She also picked up a huge head-to-head victory on Jan. 31 when she defeated her counterpart from No. 1 Auburn to help UT Martin take four of five points in reining against the top-ranked Tigers. Outside of the arena, she has been a NCEA All-Academic honor roll recipient, claimed an OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll award and is a six-time Skyhawk Athletic Director's Honor Roll winner while majoring in veterinary science.
Davis has also emerged as a starter in 2025-26, making starts in flat during all eight meets entering this weekend. The Greensboro, Ga. product recorded back-to-back victories over South Dakota State in October, clinching MOP status in the first matchup against the Jackrabbits. She also tied her head-to-head competitor against No. 2 South Carolina on Nov. 1 courtesy of a career-best 84-point performance. A management major, she has been a UT Martin Athletic Director's Honor Roll recipient on two separate occasions.
Hailing from Cape May Court House, NJ, DeGenova has been a constant in the Skyhawk Jumping Seat lineup this season with 15 combined starts. She leads the squad with three flat wins in 2025-26, securing a MOP medal with a career-high 86 points against South Dakota State on Oct. 31. She also ranks second on the team with four head-to-head wins in fences, the last of which coming via a career-best 80-point effort on Jan. 31 against No. 1 Auburn. In the classroom, she is a five-time UT Martin Athletic Director's Honor Roll winner while majoring in management.
Veale has cracked the horsemanship lineup 13 times over the past two seasons. The Ooltewah, Tenn. native went unbeaten over an eight-day span earlier this fall, starting with a MOP performance of 75.5 points against South Dakota State on Oct. 31. She followed that with an impressive head-to-head triumph over No. 2 South Carolina on Nov. 1, bringing home ECAC Rider of the Week accolades. Academically, she is a criminal justice and nursing major who has achieved NCEA All-Academic honor roll, OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll and four Skyhawk Athletic Director Honor Roll mentions.
