MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin volleyball squad conducts its final two home matches of the 2026 campaign this week, hosting Ohio Valley Conference rival Lindenwood on Nov. 5-6. Start times for the series are 6 p.m. on Thursday and 5 p.m. on Friday.
Senior Night is scheduled for Friday as a pregame ceremony honoring the career contributions of Riley Rushing, Dylan Sulcer and Mia Saenz will take place. That trio has combined for 437 kills, 666 assists, 78 service aces, 599 digs and 245 blocks over the course of their Skyhawk careers.
UT Martin (10-13, 5-7 OVC) is coming off a split at league foe Southern Indiana last week as both matches went into fifth sets. Rylee Key equaled a school record with her third OVC Rookie of the Week mention after generating team-highs in kills (31, 3.10 per set), attack percentage (.472) and blocks (10, 1.00 per set). Luli Arcucci (2.20 kills, 3.30 digs per set), Sulcer (9.10 assists per set), Penny Kirkham (team-best six service aces) and Abby Freund (team-high 3.80 digs per set) also helped guide the Skyhawks in Evansville.
Defense continues to be UT Martin's strong suit this fall as the Skyhawks rank second in the OVC in opponent hitting percentage (.197) and blocks (2.00 per set).
Sulcer currently ranks third in the OVC in assists per set (6.75, increasing that average to 8.61 in league play) while Key checks in at the top five in both blocks (0.87 per set, fourth) and attack percentage (.308, fifth). Carly Mueller (0.85 blocks per set) and Lauren Mariscal (3.27 digs per set) also each rank sixth in the league in their respective statistical categories.
The Lions boast the eighth-best overall record (19-3) in the nation and are 9-1 in the OVC standings coming off their bye weekend. Six of Lindenwood's league victories have been sweeps as its only OVC setback was a 3-1 loss at league-leading Southeast Missouri on Oct. 10. Five different Lions have combined for a dozen OVC Player of the Week accolades this season, including six-time Setter of the Week Kaci Johnson (10.71 assists per set, ranking 11th nationally). Mandy Lawson tops the league with 0.41 service aces per set while Lindenwood leads the OVC in kills (14.10 per set), assists (12.85 per set) and opponent hitting percentage (.186).
